1 of a Kind

1 of 1 Photography Print This photograph was created with a single outcome in mind: to exist once. It is released as a true 1 of 1 print, produced in one edition and never to be reproduced again. After this print is acquired, the image is permanently retired—no future sizes, no alternate versions, no returns to the press. What remains is a single physical work, complete and final. Photography is often defined by its ability to be repeated. This piece moves in the opposite direction. By choosing limitation over abundance, the image shifts from a reproducible file into a singular object—one that occupies a specific place, held by one collector, at a particular moment in time. Its value lies not only in rarity, but in the decision to stop. This print is the only physical realization of the photograph that will ever exist. There are no proofs, no editions, and no variations. The work is allowed to end where it is, preserving both its conceptual clarity and its material integrity.

Process & Materials The photograph is produced using museum-grade materials, selected for their longevity, tonal nuance, and archival permanence. Archival pigments are printed onto fine art paper chosen to complement the image, meeting institutional conservation standards and ensuring stability over time. Each print is made individually and brought to completion under the artist’s supervision. Minor variations inherent in the printing process affirm the work’s physical presence—evidence of touch, process, and decision—distinguishing it as an object rather than a reproduction. The result is a finished work that exists independently, no longer provisional, no longer repeatable. Certificate of Authenticity.

Each 1 of 1 print is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, signed and dated by the artist. The certificate confirms the work as a unique, single-edition photograph and formally records the image’s permanent retirement from reproduction. It serves as a lasting document of authenticity and provenance for the collector. Once made, this image will not be made again.

Where every Photo is a Piece of ART.

                                           Between Fog and Tide

That morning felt promising to me from the very start. Standing by the sea in Blue Rocks, I could feel the possibility of a great photograph in the air—in the salt, in the damp wind, in the quiet rhythm of the coast. A light rain fell along the rugged shoreline, and fog settled low over the water, the kind of weather most people avoid. I welcomed it. I knew this was exactly what I was looking for. Rainy, foggy mornings have always given me the strongest landscapes, the kind that soften the world and allow it to speak quietly. It was early, still and hushed, as if the coast hadn’t fully woken yet or me. The old fishing dock stretched into the sea, its boards dark and slick with rain. Beyond it, the main fishing building stood seemingly in the middle of the water—weathered, steady, and completely at home in the elements. I was on holiday in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, in April 2025, finally standing in a place fellow photographers had spoken about with confidence. They were right. The fog held on just long enough, then slowly began to lift, revealing the rocky shoreline piece by piece. What caught me off guard was the golden seaweed scattered across the shore—unlike anything I had ever seen before, glowing softly against the muted tones of stone and water. Rain glazed the rocks, deepened the colors, and pulled richness from everything it touched. The tide sat halfway in, caught between movement and stillness, the ocean breathing gently against the land. Even knowing the weather was right, doubt lingered. The rain came and went, and I wasn’t sure there would be a moment clear enough to work between the drops. But patience is part of my craft. I waited. Then the rain paused, the light settled, and for a brief window the coast revealed exactly what I had hoped for. I lifted the camera and pressed the shutter. Almost immediately, the drizzle returned. That single frame became my first 1 of 1 print—not just a landscape, but a quiet confirmation that sometimes the conditions we’re told to avoid are the ones that offer the most honest and meaningful images.
