Phone Of Light: Through this project, I learned that light photography is a powerful way to communicate ideas that are usually invisible. Using long exposure allowed the light from my phone to extend beyond the screen and become the main subject of the image. This helped show how much control the phone’s glow has over my attention. I also learned that light can represent movement and energy, even when the subject is physically still. The contrast between my still body and the active light made the images feel more intense and helped express how phones keep our minds constantly stimulated. Working with light photography taught me to slow down and be intentional. Because each shot required time and patience, it mirrored the way phone use stretches time without us noticing. The technique itself reinforced the message of the project. Overall, I learned that light photography isn’t just visually interesting—it’s meaningful. It allowed me to turn a common habit into something visible, emotional, and thought-provoking, helping both me and the viewer better understand the impact of phone use.
